Know what's coming,
before it surprises you.
Your balance looks fine on the 3rd. Then rent goes out on the 5th, the EMI on the 10th, and that yearly recharge you forgot about. Roobai drafts a budget from the bills you already pay and keeps every one of them on a timeline, so nothing lands as a shock.
The hard part isn't spending less. It's knowing what's still coming.
Most money apps are good at showing what you already spent. The worry is about what's next. The bill you forgot, the EMI you half-remember, the week money runs thin.
"I still write down every expense, just to guess what next month will cost."
"Gas every two months, internet every six, recharge once a year. My budget never survives them."
"Prepay the loan or invest the extra? Every answer is 'it depends', plus another Excel sheet."
"My bank balance says I'm fine. It never mentions the ₹22,000 rent due Friday."
"One month feels under control. The next one falls apart again."
"I keep meaning to start an emergency fund. The budget's too messy to begin."
Three questions Roobai keeps answered for you
Roobai watches money coming in and going out, spots what repeats, and keeps three answers ready. So you don't have to sit down with a calculator.
Where is my money going?
Every UPI payment, card swipe and auto-debit shows up sorted by type. No tagging, no monthly data entry.
What's coming this month?
Rent, EMIs, subscriptions and the once-in-a-while bills, on a timeline before they hit.
Am I ready for it?
One number for what's safe to spend after everything that's already committed. You'll know early if the month looks tight.
See where the money actually went
A day-by-day calendar of money in and money out. Plus one view that sorts your spending into building wealth, needs, and things you could trim, so you can read the shape of the month at a glance.
You approve it once. It becomes your budget.
Roobai finds what actually repeats: rent, EMIs, subscriptions, the six-monthly internet bill. You add it to your budget or skip it. Nothing to set up.
A budget that lasts past the first week
Most budgets die the same way. You build one in a spreadsheet, the first odd bill throws it off, and a week later you've stopped looking. Roobai's budget starts from the bills you've already okayed, stays grouped the way your money actually moves, and shows when a category is drifting while you can still do something about it.

Ask Pat. It's seen your real numbers.
Pat is where the safe-to-spend number lives. Ask it a plain question like "can I afford a ₹2,500 dinner this weekend?" and get a plain answer, worked out from your own income, spending and bills. Not a generic rule from a blog.
It also points out things that are easy to miss, like small daily spends adding up, and ties them to something you're saving for. Pat gives guidance to think with, not licensed financial advice.
Questions people ask us
What is Roobai?
Roobai is a money app for people in India who want to know if the month is under control. It shows what you've spent, what bills are still coming, and how much is safe to spend right now.
How is it different from a budgeting app?
Budgeting apps ask you to set limits and stick to them every month. Roobai drafts a budget from the bills you already pay, then shows what's realistically safe to spend as the month goes. There are no rules to keep up.
Do I have to enter my expenses?
No. Roobai fills in your spending for you, so there's no logging every auto ride and cup of chai. You just check that it got things right and fix anything that's off.
How does Roobai see my transactions?
Roobai reads the payment updates you already get on your phone. There's no net-banking password, ever. Nothing leaves your account, and Roobai never moves money for you.
Is my data safe?
Your information stays yours. It's encrypted, you can disconnect any time, and Roobai doesn't sell data or run ads.
What does "safe to spend" mean?
It's what's left after your expected income minus rent, EMIs, bills and a small buffer for surprises. It isn't your bank balance and it isn't a strict budget. It's the figure that tells you how much you can spend without the month going off track.
Who is Pat?
Pat is the assistant inside Roobai. Ask it something like "can I afford this?" and it answers from your own numbers, in plain language. Pat gives guidance to think with, not licensed financial advice, and it doesn't pick stocks.
How much does it cost?
It's free while Roobai is in early access. We'll be upfront about pricing well before anything changes.
When can I use it?
Roobai is rolling out to a small group at a time. Join the early list and we'll email you when there's a spot.
