Terms of Service
The short version
- Roobai helps you see what's coming and what's safe to spend. It's guidance, not financial advice.
- Roobai is not a bank. It never moves your money.
- Forecasts and numbers are estimates and can be wrong. Decisions stay yours.
- Early access is free for now and may change.
1. About these terms
These terms are between you and Roobai ("we", "us"). They cover the Roobai website and app. By using Roobai you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Roobai.
You must be 18 or older to use Roobai.
2. What Roobai does
Roobai organises your spending, lines up your upcoming bills, drafts a budget from them, and tells you how much is safe to spend this month. It also includes Pat, an assistant that answers everyday money questions using your own numbers.
Roobai is not a bank, payment app or lender. It doesn't hold, send or move money. When you tap "Pay now", you're taken to your bank or UPI app to pay there.
3. Guidance, not financial advice
Pat and the rest of Roobai give you information to think with. They are not licensed financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and Roobai is not a licensed financial adviser. For big decisions such as loans, investments or tax, please speak to a qualified professional.
4. Numbers are estimates
Roobai works from the messages and data you connect. Forecasts, categories and "safe to spend" are estimates, and they can be incomplete or wrong, for example if a payment message is missing or a bill changes. Please check important figures with your bank or statements. You are responsible for your own money decisions.
5. Your account and access
- You sign in with Google. Keep your Google account and your phone secure.
- You choose whether to connect Gmail and SMS. Only connect accounts and numbers that belong to you.
- You can disconnect them at any time, though parts of Roobai won't work without them.
6. Early access
Roobai is in early access. It's free for now and provided as it is. We may change, pause or end features. If we introduce charges, we'll tell you clearly before you're charged anything.
7. Using Roobai properly
Please don't:
- use Roobai for anything unlawful, or to access someone else's data;
- copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or attack the app or its servers;
- try to break or get around its security or limits;
- share your account or sell access to it.
8. Your data
Your data stays yours. You allow us to process it to run Roobai for you, as set out in the Privacy Policy.
9. Our rights
The Roobai app, its design, name and logo belong to us. You may use Roobai for your own personal use, and you may not transfer that permission to anyone else.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using Roobai at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, misuse Roobai, or the law requires it.
11. No guarantees
We work hard to keep Roobai accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". We can't promise it will always work without interruption or errors.
12. Limits on our responsibility
As far as the law allows, Roobai is not responsible for indirect or knock-on losses, or for losses that come from relying on an estimate or from a message Roobai couldn't read. Our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, which is nothing during free early access. Nothing here limits responsibility the law doesn't allow us to limit.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Chennai will have jurisdiction, unless the law gives you the right to go elsewhere.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and tell you about important changes in the app or by email. If you keep using Roobai after a change, you accept the new terms.
