Privacy Policy
Your money is personal, so we keep this simple. Here's what Roobai collects, why, and how we look after it. Questions? Write to us at balaji.parimelazhagan@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your Google sign-in: name, email and photo.
- Payment alerts from the Gmail inbox and SMS you connect. We pick out the amount, date, payee, last digits of the account and reference number. We don't store your full emails or SMS.
- What you do in Roobai: labels, bills you confirm, your budget and your chats with Pat.
Why we need it
- To show your spending and upcoming bills.
- To tell you what's safe to spend.
- To answer your questions in Pat.
That's it. We don't use it for anything else.
Our promises
- We don't sell your data or show ads.
- We don't ask for your net-banking password.
- Roobai never moves your money.
- We only read your Gmail. We never send, delete or change anything.
- Nobody at Roobai reads your messages, unless you ask us to fix a problem or the law or security needs it.
Gmail and Google data
We use Google data only for the features you see in Roobai. Gmail access is read-only, and we use it only to find your payment alerts.
Roobai's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Pat and AI
For now, Pat uses OpenAI, a third-party AI service, to put its answers into plain words. Roobai works out your numbers itself. OpenAI only gets your question and the figures needed to answer it. We don't send your name, email or other personal details. OpenAI doesn't use this data to train its models.
We're building our own AI model, and we'll stop using OpenAI once it's ready.
Who else is involved
- Google: sign-in, Gmail and fonts.
- OpenAI: for Pat, as above.
- InterServer: our servers, in Secaucus, New Jersey, USA.
We share your data with authorities only if the law requires it.
How we keep it safe
- Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Everyone's records are kept separate at the database level.
- We never see your net-banking password, because we never ask for it.
You're in control
- Stop Gmail access any time in your Google Account's security settings. Stop SMS access in your phone's app settings.
- Want a copy of your data, a correction, or to delete it? Email us and we'll take care of it.
- You can also name someone to act for you.
